Between Newcomers and Returns, an Exciting Mugello Is Announced

The 2024 Alfa Revival grid at Mugello is truly exciting, boasting a remarkable 35 entrants.

October 10, 2024: Seven teams come directly from the recently concluded Modena Cento Ore: let’s discover them. Martin Halusa, from the family of collectors that also owns the famous Ferrari 250 Breadvan of Scuderia Serenissima, is a recognized quality driver. Joachim Von Muschwitz, Matteo Kamata with the OKP Alfa Delta Racing Team. Hans Luginbuehel, who experienced and fell in love with the Alfa Revival Cup atmosphere, and Alberto Franceschetti with the Formula GT team. Finally, the well-known pairs formed by Bernhard Laber – Lukas Stojetz and Christian Ondrak – Massimo Bortolami.

There are many participants from abroad. From Austria, we see Christoph and Bernd Winkler, father and son, along with friend and rival Franz Slama. Moreover, the experienced Bavarian father-son duo Mathias-Fabian Körber will also be enriching the particularly crowded F TC 1600 class in this round.

To confirm that Alfa Revival Cup events attract young talent, let’s welcome the Swiss driver Dario Inhelder from the Auto Engiadina team, who, together with Edoardo Acciai and the brothers Mattia and Giulio Sordi, are among the young drivers of the championship.

On the Italian front, there are new arrivals and returns: enriching the G2 TC 2000 class are the father and son duo Luigi and Niccolò Mercatali, nicknamed the “flying pharmacists.” Similarly, father and son Gianni and Edoardo Acciai are competing in the H1 T 2000 class with the Scuderia Clemente Biondetti team.

Another “family return” comes from Riccardo Raimondi, cousin of Raffaele, who will drive the Giulietta Spider Veloce previously driven to success by Renzo Raimondi, the Alfa Revival Cup champion in 2022. Playing on their home turf, the Scuderia Clemente Biondetti is fielding five cars, including Mauro Bini, a protagonist of the Alfa Revival Cup in past editions, paired with Carlo Fabbrini. The Carrera team has a strong presence with the addition of Sergio Sambataro arriving from Sicily.

Also worth keeping an eye on are the combative and experienced Fabio Babini, Alberto Franceschetti, excellent at Vallelunga and expected in a few weeks at Misano, Daniele Perfetti, whose talent is well-known, and Luca De Marchi (involved in the Ferrari Challenge) and Dario Domenichini, all returning after a break.

One certainty? It’s going to be a lot of fun.
