July 15, 2025: His first race 53 years ago, with an Alfa Romeo, and today he’s still on track, in Imola, in the Alfa Revival Cup with a Giulia Sprint GTA that he will drive with the passion that has always accompanied him throughout his extraordinary career.
This is Arturo Merzario, one of the most likeable and outgoing drivers in motorsport, but also with a big courageous heart. His name is forever linked to the rescue of Niki Lauda in the Nurburgring fire; however, it should also be remembered that it was he who was chosen by Enzo Ferrari for the development of the car that would become the winning 312T.
On board the Alfa, which he will drive on Sunday, July 27, alongside Fabian Körber, he will surely put his vast technical experience to good use. Congratulations to OKP for bringing Arturo back to the track.
Is he no longer a young man? Yes, but his opponents should be careful: Arturo has never changed, he is always 20 years old, and Alfa Romeo is in his heart, also for the successes he had in the World Sport Prototype Championship with the legendary Alfa Romeo 33. It will be a real pleasure to see him in Imola.
