May, 14th 2025: This weekend, the Alfa Revival Cup heads to the Vallelunga circuit near Rome for the second round of the 2025 edition. It’s a unique chance for fans to see the cars that shaped Alfa Romeo’s legacy in Touring and GT racing up close, all in the friendly atmosphere of the paddock. The area is open to the public with free entry and the chance to meet drivers, mechanics and teams, and ask questions, explore curiosities or simply admire the cars up close. In addition, a truly special opportunity: the chance to step onto the grid before the race begins.
With this second race, the Championship gets into full swing: after Davide Bertinelli’s win for Team Gatti in the opening round at the Red Bull Ring in Austria, which earned him 26.5 points, the main contenders are Mario Salomone paired with Giacomo Barri, and Ambrogio Perfetti. The Salomone and Barri duo from Team Alfa Delta OKP is in close pursuit, after taking pole position, second place and fastest lap in Austria for a total of 23.5 points. Ambrogio Perfetti of Team Alfa Delta OKP, who finished third in the opening round, hands over the family’s hopes to his brother Daniele, a frontrunner last season, who will now be aiming for the podium.
Last year, it was Daniele Perfetti who crossed the finish line first, with Davide Bertinelli in third, setting the stage once again this year for a tight battle for overall victory. Other drivers to watch include Christian Oldendorff of Team Fernandes Racing after a strong fifth place at the Red Bull Ring, as well as Alberto Franceschetti racing for Formula GT, and the pairing of Laber–Stojetz from Team Alfa Delta OKP, all strong competitors in GTAm cars. Special guests this weekend include Ronnie Kessel and Roberto Restelli.
The Vallelunga weekend will also feature the NASCAR Euro Series, offering a fast-paced race programme in pure American style that includes majorettes. It will be interesting to compare the lap times of the Alfa Romeos with the American muscle cars, just like in the past when the Biscione’s cars often held their own against more powerful but far heavier rivals.
