Alfa Revival Cup 2024 Round 6: The Showdown at Misano

The Alfa Revival Cup Championship is still wide open and will conclude on Saturday, November 2, at the Misano World Circuit, where 24 Alfa Romeos will race along the 4,226-meter track in Romagna.

October 31, 2024: We’ve reached the final round after an exciting and hard-fought season. In the overall standings, Giacomo Barri of the OKP Alfa Delta Racing Team holds the lead with 98 points, closely followed by Davide Bertinelli of Team Gatti with 94 points. The two drivers, who carry #50 and #87 on their GTAm cars, will each race solo for the entire hour. Barri aims to honor Emilio Petrone’s memory with an outright victory. The competition remains fierce as not only race points are in play but also those for pole position and fastest lap. The podium will ultimately decide the outcome.

Only four points separate the two title contenders. In third place overall, with 72 points, are Francesco Pantaleo and Antonio Crescenti of Carrera Team, who, with their Giulia Sprint GTA 1600 #25, lead the F TC 1600 class. In fourth place are Bernhard Laber and Lukas Stojetz of OKP Alfa Delta Racing Team with GTAm #69, followed by Fausto Amengolagine in fifth, driving the GT Veloce 2000 #44 for Scuderia Capannone Garage and leading his class (H1 T 2000). His teammate Marco Milla with the Giulia Super #20 leads the H1 TC 1600 class. Christian Ondrak and Massimo Bortolami of OKP Alfa Delta Racing Team are firmly ahead in the I GR.5 1600 class with their Giulia Sprint GTA #36.

Now, let’s take a look at the entry list. Michael Erlich of OKP Alfa Delta Racing Team, the 2023 season champion, will return with his Giulia Sprint GTA #40 to compete in the last race of 2024 and hand back the trophy. Brothers Giulio and Mattia Sordi of OKP Alfa Delta Racing Team will race with a GTA 1300 Junior #188 in the G2 TC 1300 class, as their usual Giulia Super was damaged in the last race at Mugello. German tuner Peter Praller of Formula GT will field three Alfa Romeos: along with his Giulia Sprint GTA #67 (G1 GR.5 1600 class), his team will include Alberto Franceschetti with the GTAm #27 and Swiss driver Hans Luginbuehl with the GTAm #93, both of whom also raced at Mugello. Scuderia Clemente Biondetti will also bring three GT Veloce 2000 cars in the H1 T 2000 class: #60 for Carlo Fabbrini, #61 for Edoardo and Gianni Acciai, and #62 for Fabio Gimignani. A Swiss duo will form for the GTAm #85, with Peter Bachofen of OKP Alfa Delta Racing Team sharing the wheel with Dario Inhelder, who was also present at Mugello. The Team Piloti Forlivesi will join the two-day autumn event, returning after many years with Umberto Bartolucci, a hill climb racer, driving a Giulia Super #9 in the H1 TC 2000 class. Ronnie Kessel, who competed in the inaugural race at Vallelunga, will race in the GTAm #11 for OKP Alfa Delta Racing Team. Ambrogio Perfetti of OKP Alfa Delta Racing Team, who has been a key competitor at Magione and Vallelunga, will drive the GTAm #95, prepared by his brother Daniele.

The grid will, of course, be completed by all the season’s protagonists: Marco Guerra and Emanuele Benedini in the Giulia Sprint GTA #16, Giovanni Serio and Massimo Guerra in the Giulia Sprint GTA #106 (both from Carrera Team), Mathias Körber and Fabian Körber in the Giulia Sprint GTA #100, Mario Salomone in the GTAm #23, Matteo Kamata in the GTAm #34, all from OKP Alfa Delta Racing Team, Stefano Barbieri and Kevin Giovesi in GTAm #96 (AMG RS), Carlo Barbolini Cionini and Raffaele Raimondi in GTAm #356 (Circolo della Biella).

An exciting spectacle is guaranteed for those in the stands at the Misano World Circuit. The event kicks off on Friday, November 1, at 9:30 a.m. with the free practice session, followed by qualifying at 3:20 p.m. The green light for the one-hour race will be at 11:25 a.m. on Saturday, November 2.
